Great weekend! Just got done racing the Summer Solstice Regatta at Seabrook. We had a little of everything, 7 races total, 3 in 5-10 kts and 4 at 15kts+. 5 fleets there total, Vanguards, Lasers, Sunfish, Portsmouth and multihulls. I had a good series and won the Sunfish class. This is a very well run regatta and one that should certainly be on the TX circuit next year. 5 meals, awards, camping and a top notch race committee was easily worth the $50 fee. This is also a challenging venue, lots of large waves make it a real change from lake sailing. You had to work hard all the time, in light or heavy air, to keep the boat moving in the chop. I am exhausted tonight but in a good way. This is the 1st regatta since I started racing again last fall where I felt good.
